A new record in wind power was set by Vestas with the participation of our graduate
The world leader, the Danish company Vestas, which has been operating in the wind generator market for 40 years, has set a new world record for capacity in the field of wind turbines. The new model of the v236-15.0 MW wind generator, developed with the active participation of our graduate Tusit Abeyaseker, has a rated capacity of 15 MW and can generate 60-85 GW per year, which is enough to provide electricity to 20 thousand homes. The new generator will be the most powerful of Vestas ‘ range of generators offered for offshore wind farms located on the high seas at a considerable distance from the coast.
The developed generation system can generate electrical energy at wind speeds of 3-30 M/s. to drive this generator, a turbine with a blade diameter of 236 m is required, mounted on a mast of more than 140 m.
