Cooperation program with Warwick
The program of cooperation with the University of Warwick, Coventry (Faculty of Electrical Engineering) and the department of automation of electromechanical systems and electric drive has been in operation for 1 year.
The program is aimed at scientific and educational cooperation to improve the quality of the preparation of master-students, PhD-students and joint scientific projects.
This year, two students of the AEMS-ED department were trained at the University of Warwick [1], [2] within the framework of cooperation.
One of the possible directions for the next applicants for the internship is to work on a Hyperloop.
In October 2019, Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. S. Korol completed an internship at the Power and Control Systems Research Laboratory at Warwick University. He has gained practical experience with experimental training and research facilities. During the internship, he got acquainted with the work of students of our department D. Rodkin and O. Zinchenko on the creation of a unit for testing algorithms for control of permanent magnets synchronous motors based on dSPACE and OPAL-RL. It is planned that a postgraduate student of the AEMS-ED department will work with this installation in 2020. Also S. Korol gained practical experience in the application of pneumatic motors in energy storage systems.
In November-early December Assoc. Prof. Ph.D. S. Buryan also underwent an internship at this laboratory. He was engaged in setting up and researching a laboratory pumping complex operated by neural networks. In the future, a postgraduate student of our department will work at this facility as part of internship in spring 2020.
