Semester in Germany
Hello everyone, my name is Khilko Nikita, I am a 5th year student and I want to tell you about my DAAD exchange training course at the Technical University of Applied Sciences (Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen – THM) in Friedberg, Germany.
The University campus is located in three cities: Gissen, Friedberg and Wetzlar. During the semester, we studied at a campus located in the city of Friedberg, which also hosts a student hostel. The way from the bus to the campus took about 5 minutes, if you use the bus, and about 15-20 minutes, if you go on foot, because in Germany all the transport runs strictly on schedule, then we not always managed to get in university by bus.
Education at the university was held not every day, so there was time on the trips. Germany has developed railroad connection, so you can travel to every city. The student card we received is an e-card for paying food in the student’s dining room and free travel on certain federal lands.
Also, one of the peculiarities of studying in Germany is that in each academic semester in each discipline there is a obligatory project, the results of which must be presented in the form of a presentation in 30 minutes. This significantly improved the ability to present the results of own research and development.
