Hallo alle zusammen!
I am a 6th-year master-student V. Varvolik, and I want to tell you a little about the scientific internship at Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen (THM), which took place from 02.10.2017 to 28.02.2018 within the masters double diploma program framework.
The university campus is located in three cities – Friedberg, Giessen and Wetzlar. Department laboratory of the Information Technology, Electrical Engineering and Mechanics, where I worked all the time, is in Friedberg.
During the training period, an algorithm for detecting road markings based on a convolutional neural network was developed and successfully tested in laboratory conditions.
Our hostel (studentenwohnheim) is also located in Friedberg, the road to the lab takes 3 minutes by bus.
Despite the fact that Friedberg is a very small city, the railway system is quite developed in Germany, so you can reach Frankfurt am Main or Giessen in 15 minutes.
A student’s ticket (also a travel card) gives you the opportunity to travel free on the Hesse federal state, so you can arrange mini-trips on weekends (of course, if there is a time).
