Annotation of  education program

The work program of the credit module “Industrial automation systems-1. Programmable logic controllers ” for students studying on the specialization “Electromechanical systems of automation and electric drive”, educational qualification level of specialist on the full-time study, was prepared in accordance with the program of discipline “Industrial automation systems”, compiled by S.V. Korol.

The students study the credit module “Industrial automation systems-1. Programmable logic controllers” in the first semester of the 5th course.
The main attention is paid to the automation systems building principles based on programmable logic controllers that meet the standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC 1131. Besides, the basis for programs development was considered in two languages presented in this standard.
The first chapter is about the general construction principles of digital automation facilities, their development history, structure and working principle of programmable logic controllers, ways of information presenting in microprocessor systems, principles of industrial controllers programming. The basic and specialized data types, the rules for creation of variable identifiers and variable addressing principles are considered in the second chapter of the discipline. The third section covers a description of programs organization modules and their main differences. Rules of programs organization modules are illustrated on the examples and the basic approaches used for the program creation are given. The information about work principle, terms of use, basic operator’s syntax, functions and functional blocks on programming languages FBD and ST are described in the fourth chapter.
