The purpose of studying the credit module “Theory of electric drive” is to prepare students in the field of design, research, commissioning and operation of modern electric drives and electromechanical systems. The main tasks of the module is the acquisition of specific knowledge, skills and abilities to solve problems in analyzing the dynamics of open-loop electromechanical systems, optimizing their energy efficiency, rational choice of electric motors for power, heat and losses analysis of every operation mode of all basic topologies of DC and AC electric drives.
