This paper presents designs of the new state observers (SO) for sensorless field-oriented vector control (FOC) systems of synchronous motors with interior magnets (IPMSM). Observers are based on the motor models in the rotor reference frame. Input signal of SO is torque producing stator voltage and correction signal is stator current estimation error. Observers estimate unmeasured load torque without the use of an additional integrator. The observed load torque is utilized for the compensation of the speed estimation error and speed decrease in the closed loop system by torque load presence. Equations are derived for calculating the coefficients of the observer’s corrective coupling from the condition of providing the desired characteristic polynomial of SO. An expression is found for calculating the speed estimation error in the steady state mode when the system responds to the changes in load torque. The simulation results are given.
