Carolo Cup is an inter-university competition held every year at the Technical University of Braunschweig (Technische Universität Carolo-Wilhelmina zu Braunschweig), Germany, under the patronage of such concerns as Bosch, Volkswagen, BMW, etc. Students compete in teams and solve actual problems of autonomous traffic.
During the season, the teams build a fully autonomous model of the car in the proportion of 1:10. With the help of developed algorithms of movement and recognition of the environment, the models should perform overtaking of moving and stationary obstacles, recognition of road markings and traffic signs, etc. In addition, the judges evaluate the design and presentation of the model.
