Study at the Otto-von-Guericke University of Magdeburg for FEA students
Study German at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute at the Joint Ukrainian-German Faculty of Mechanical Engineering (SUNMF) and get the opportunity to study for a master’s degree at the Otto-von-Guericke University (Ofsu) of Magdeburg (Germany).
Since September 2020, FEA students have been included in the cooperation program between KPI and ofsu, and can additionally study German from the first year. You will be taught an advanced level of German by lecturers from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), who work on a permanent basis in the SUNMF state.
The necessary conditions for studying for a master’s degree in the 5th and 6th years at the Otto von Guericke University are:
- successful defense of a bachelor’s thesis (the average score for 4 years of study and defense of a bachelor’s thesis is not lower than 4.5);
- availability of a recommendation from the graduating Department;
- having a German language proficiency certificate (TestDAF or DSH with an average score of at least 4.0) is not allowed for any three in any of the four parts of the exam);
While studying for a master’s degree at Otto-von-Guericke University, students can apply for targeted scholarships from DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) and other foundations on a competitive basis, as well as independently apply for individual scholarships.
Upon completion of the course of study and successful defense of the master’s thesis at OFSU, students receive a master of Science degree in accordance with German law, and upon returning to Ukraine, the ofsu graduate defends his master’s thesis at the Graduate Department of NTUU “KPI named after I. Sikorsky” and receives a master’s degree in the corresponding specialty of the Ukrainian state model. Thanks to this program, the student receives a European education and two diplomas: a master’s degree from the Otto-von Guericke University of Magdeburg and a master’s degree from the Igor Sikorsky KPI.
