This paper describes approximation methods of induction machines magnetizing curve on self-excited induction generator example. Induction generators manufacturers don’t provide sufficient information about their machines magnetizing curve, also induction machine idle mode test do not provide information about possible range of magnetizing current. However, induction generator operates on nonlinear descending part of magnetizing curve where the value of magnetizing current is high. Thus during the study of induction generator process of the magnetization curve approximation is necessary to carry out in this way that will make it possible to reliably describe the zone of high currents, which are impossible to be obtained experimentally. In this article, different methods of approximation of magnetizing curve are compared and analyzed. Authors propose the method of approximation of magnetizing curve, which is suitable for induction generators and development of their control systems.
