In this paper a new position tracking control algorithm for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSM) with decoupling of direct current component and angular position is presented. It allows to freely regulate the direct current component in order to achieve more efficient control without degradation of the speed and position dynamics. A novel three stages self-commissioning procedure is proposed for all IPMSM parameters identification. For each testing stage, the adaptive algorithms are designed. First two stages are based on adaptive current control. Adaptive position controller provides the estimation of the mechanical parameters. Simulation results proof the effectiveness of the theoretical findings.
